The unsettling reality of artificial intelligence (AI) infiltrating our workforce is not a foreign concept, but it took an eerily personal turn for voice-over artists, Paul Skye Lehrman and Linnea Sage.

While listening to a podcast discussing the potential implications of AI on Hollywood jobs, they were taken aback as an AI-powered chat bot sounding exactly like Lehrman contributed to the conversation.

The realisation drove them to spend the night scouring the internet until they discovered their voices being sold on the text-to-speech platform, Lovo.

The technology had not only replicated Lehrman's voice but Sage's as well.

The couple now believes their voices were created under misleading circumstances using recordings they provided for a different purpose.

The discovery has led them to file a lawsuit against Lovo, highlighting the worrying potential of their industry and others being threatened by AI advancements.
